Virgin Australia unveiled the new look of its renovated Melbourne lounge when it reopened on Monday to complement the airline’s national lounge network.

Closed in March 2020, the reopened lounge is the largest in the Virgin network and adopts a more relaxed and contemporary look for the 500 guests who can sit under COVID guidelines.

There are new bathrooms and showers as well as zoned areas for passengers to work or relax with ambient lighting, greenery and modern and refreshed furniture.

There is plenty of space to relax, but the workbenches continue to offer electricity and data, and meeting rooms will eventually be available for rent when COVID security requirements allow.

“As part of our commitment to invest in great experiences for our guests, it was important that we upgrade the Melbourne Lounge, which opened more than eight years ago, in line with our new and fresh design of the design Lounge, ”said Virgin Chief Customer Officer Paul Jones.

The Melbourne lounge joins facilities in Sydney, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Adelaide, Canberra and Perth. the airline will also reopen its exclusive premium lounges, previously known as the Club.

Funky new signage greets guests in the remodeled salon and is a distinctive feature throughout the salon.

The Gallery Lounge offers a breathtaking view of the tarmac with comfortable chairs and ottomans.

The ‘Wake Up’ Cafe Bar offers a cup of tea served by a barista, while the ‘Wind Down’ Wine Bar is the perfect place to find a premium selection of local beers, ciders and Australian wines. An adjacent relaxation area emphasizes individual seating for the solo traveler to relax.

An all-day catering service offers a new menu with dishes such as black rice, beetroot with nuts, and fetta salad; potato rosti with crispy bacon; and baked beans and Karaage chicken served with coleslaw and mayonnaise.
