French cuisine returns to Brasserie Brixton
The Brixton Brewery is finally functioning as the bustling hangout of the neighborhood it was intended to be, almost a year later than expected. Owners Justin Morse, Amy Keil and Matt Daniels and Chef Nick Dalton opened the restaurant in July 2020, with the aim of bringing the charm of an intimate and affordable Parisian bistro to the Cole neighborhood. Then the confines of indoor seating crushed their visions of patrons packing around the sleek, marble-topped bar and gathering around the chef’s counter for fried steaks and glasses of wine. The team turned to a take-out concept called Le Brix Pizza and Wine for the winter, but as the vaccines were administered and the weather warmed up, the Brixton Brewery triumphantly relaunched the dinner menu of Dalton made up of small plates and dishes to share, such as crispy-skinless roast chicken accompanied by a tangy potato salad. For the ultimate in indulgence, come during weekend brunch, when you can sip refreshing homemade spritzes and savor a duck-confit sourdough crêpe topped with velvety foie gras mousse and sweet homemade jam. The good life, indeed.
