Great wines from the Langhe-Roero region in Piedmont by Poderi Moretti
By tasting our wines, you will be able to discover our traditions, learn our history and try our same passion for this little corner of Italy.
Poderi Moretti is a Piedmontese family winery located in the heart of the Langa Roero region, in the village of Monteu Roero, where since 1630 the Moretti family has cultivated their vineyards for the production of excellent wine. A real pride for the winery which, in 2011, for the 150th anniversary of the unification of Italy, received the title of Historic Company of Italy, an honor which is only awarded to companies that have been able to pass on the passion for his work from their father to his son.
Currently the company is managed by Francesco Moretti and his two sons, Alessandra and Riccardo. In particular, the latter is also the cellar master of the cellar.
The Poderi Moretti farm covers 45 hectares, of which 25 hectares are planted with vines, with a predominant cultivation of Nebbiolo and Arneis, the two most important varieties of this region, Unesco heritage. The hectares are spread over some of the most renowned Langhe-Roero CRUs. Their most important CRU is the Occhetti CRU.
The vines are managed in a reasoned manner according to the principles of reasoned agriculture, by specific choice of the family, very attentive to environmental issues.
Fine and elegant wines are produced through the combination of traditional and innovative winemaking techniques, in order to make each glass the best known experience. These wines are suitable for all occasions, from convivial gatherings with friends to the most important business dinners; Poderi Moretti wines are always the right choice!
the Roero Arneis Riserva DOCG “Occhetti” is not a common Roero Arneis. It is made from Arneis grapes from a very old vineyard, which produce weak grapes but with a perfect level of maturity, it is vinified in acacia and oak barrels and it is aged on lees for around 14 months. These are some of the reasons that make this wine one of the best Roero Arneis in the Langhe-Roero region.
the Langhe Nebbiolo DOC “Occhetti” is the most representative wine of the Poderi Moretti winery. It is made with Nebbiolo grapes from the vineyards located around the winery, which are picked when they reach the best level of maturity. Each vineyard has a particular type of soil, which gives specific characteristics to the final wine. After natural fermentation, the wine is aged in large traditional oak barrels for 18 months. Its scents make this wine more and more intriguing year after year.
Barolo DOCG Moretti: the king of wines and the wine of kings. It is made with the best Nebbiolo grapes from the vineyards located in the village of La Morra, in the Barolo region. There, the soil is richer in clay and limestone and makes it possible to produce more powerful wines with better structure. For this reason, aging is longer. The wine is aged for 36 months in large traditional oak barrels.
These are just a few of the great wines produced by Francesco Moretti and his sons Alessandra and Riccardo.
