Gucci unveils bottled cocktail with Connaught Bar’s Giorgio Bargiani – Robb Report
Gucci is embracing the bottled cocktail trend.
The Italian fashion house recently unveiled a new signature libation at the Gucci Giardino 25 cafe and cocktail bar in Florence, Italy. It also offers a pre-made, ready-to-drink version online, because it’s 2022, after all.
The tipple, baptized Elicriso’s Elisirwas created in partnership with master mixologist Giorgio Bargiani, as reported Daily Women’s Clothing. The Italian bartender has spent the past eight years working as assistant manager of mixology at Connaught Bar in London. You know, the upscale cocktail bar that’s been at number one on the World’s 50 Best Bars list for the past two years.
The blend is said to be a celebration of the Tuscan region and features an array of country-specific ingredients in a boot shape. Think unique botanicals paired with iconic Italian spirits.
“Gucci and I share the same Tuscan roots, and we have the same vision, in pursuit of excellence, in search of elegance without being stuck in the past and always in search of innovation,” said Bargiani. WWD.
The drink took seven months (and 15 different tastings) to come to fruition. The end result combines vermouth and two local liqueurs (Vetiver and N.4 Podere Santa Bianca) with London dry gin, white vinegar and red wine from Tenuta San Guido. It also contains a few drops of elixir (helichrysum oil), hence the name of the cocktail.
As you’d expect, Elicriso’s Elisir also looks great. The subtle rose-hued elixir is housed in a beautiful chiseled glass bottle that is sure to spruce up any home bar. Gucci proposes to sip it in four different ways: neat, on the rocks, with a dash of sparkling wine or with a little tonic. Hell, you can even add club soda to make your own Gucci highball.
Elisir d’Elicriso can be ordered via Gucci Osteria or the Garden 25 for around $140 but can only be shipped to Italy. The bottles will also be available in a limited edition at Gucci Giardino 25 in Florence and, of course, the cocktail will be on the bar menu. Trip across the pond, anyone?
