Paso Robles Wine Country’s First Virtual Auction Raises Over $ 70,000
Inaugural online auction supports the PRWCA Foundation
–The Paso Robles Wine Country Alliance (PRWCA) has completed the first Paso Robles Wine Country virtual auction, which began on Monday May 10 and ended on Sunday May 16. This inaugural online auction supports the PRWCA Foundation, the non-profit organization that gives back through its scholarship program for high school students and supports the local community with charitable contributions
A total of 23 auction lots, along with donations, raised $ 72,000 for the PRWCA Foundation. This week-long auction saw the auction take place quickly for some of the expected items, including the Saxum Current Release Portfolio lot as well as the French Family Affair package at Les Petites Canailles which brings together the wine families of Clos Solène, Benom and L ‘Adventure. at the dinner table. A 3 liter bottle of Patrimony and Estate Experience also aroused the enthusiasm of the bidders. These top lots received a flurry of bids and got the highest totals.
“The popularity of the Paso Robles wine country has increased with wine enthusiasts and critics,” said Joel Peterson, executive director of the Paso Robles Wine Country Alliance. “This recognition, coupled with the ease and familiarity found with virtual experiences, has created a perfect opportunity for this inaugural auction, which supports our local community.”
During the six days of the auction, 342 bids took place in pursuit of these auction lots carefully selected by the Paso Robles Wine Country Alliance. Unique wine collections and experiences have been gathered through generous donations from more than 70 member companies, including wineries, hotels, transportation providers, restaurateurs and more.
“The success of this auction was due to the relationships and sense of community shared within the local industry,” said Molly Scott, Chair of the Board of Directors of Paso Robles Wine Country Alliance and Director of Relations with producers for Justin Vineyards & Winery. “As a wine community, our winegrowers, producers and associated businesses live, work and invest in the local economy and raising the funds that come back to support this community in which we all live is of exceptional importance. As an organization and as a board of directors, we are satisfied with the way this first time went and the results achieved.
The Paso Robles Wine Country First Virtual Auction brought together bidders and buyers from across the United States, pursuing the goals of promoting the Paso Robles Wine Country to a diverse audience. The bottom line of the auction far exceeded all expectations, confirming how the wine industry can positively improve the community as a whole. These funds will not only increase the scholarship program for high school students in northern San Luis Obispo County, but also help other community-driven initiatives.
