Ramona’s FORUS plans an evening under the stars
Friends of Ramona Unified Schools (FORUS) invites the community to its fundraising night under the stars on Friday, October 22.
The event will take place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Castelli Family Vineyards at 17870 Oak Grove Road in Ramona. It will provide guests 21 and over with an evening of Castelli wine, music by Frank Lucio and Rob Lewallen, a photo booth and hearty appetizers from Something Delicious.
During the event, participants will learn about FORUS, a non-profit organization that has been supporting health and safety projects in Ramona schools since 2013.
Items auctioned off will include ‘Mahogany’ by artist Belle Tuckerman, a bronze fine art sculpture modeled after Mahogany, the famous Australian thoroughbred who raced in the mid-1990s, won the Victoria Derby and the Australian Derby and was awarded the Australian Horse of the Year for the 1993-94 racing season.
The sculpture weighs 215 pounds, is 33 inches high, 38 inches wide and 20 inches deep. It sits on a granite base weighing 75 pounds.
The public can view the pre-event sculpture in The Barn at 344 Main Street before it is moved to the Castelli family vineyards for the evening.
Proceeds from the event will go to a garden of sensory tranquility that will be created by severely disabled students at Olive Peirce Middle School, a swing and sensory equipment at the school, and decomposed granite for wheelchair access. rolling. The cost of the project is estimated at $ 15,100.
